ottoman era

in late ottoman era, noted place named sheik zeid, presumed come personal name.


british mandate era

in 1922 census of palestine conducted british mandate authorities, kh. al-sheikh zaid had population 10, muslims.


the inhabitants belong al-kilani family. village named after sheikh zeid kilani, late leader of kilani family. village site of 1935 shootout between anti-colonial leader izz al-din al-qassam , british mandatory forces, ended al-qassam killed.


in 1945 population of nazlet zeid counted of ya bad, in official land , population survey.


1948-1967

in wake of 1948 arab–israeli war, , after 1949 armistice agreements, nazlet zeid came under jordanian rule.


post-1967

after six-day war in 1967, nazlet zeid has been under israeli occupation.
