the church of england parish church dedicated st peter , built on earlier saxon site, parts of building dating norman period. largely rebuilt architect c. hodgson fowler in 1892, grade ii* listed building.


john wesley preached @ barter table in middle of osmotherley on several occasions, first in 1745. in 1754 methodist chapel erected in chapel yard.


osmotherley home osmotherley friends meeting house, traditional stone building, erected in 1690 or 1723. meetings still held here once month. thought george fox may have visited village in late 17th century.
