kudelski played yale bulldogs of ecac, beginning in 1983-84 season, freshman, kudelski had 14 goals , 26 points in 21 games. in 1984-85, kudelski saw increase in offensive production, scoring 21 goals , 44 points in 32 games yale. kudelski saw slight decrease in offense in 1985-86, scoring 18 goals , 41 points in 31 games. in final season bulldogs in 1986-87, kudelski had best collegiate season, scoring 25 goals , 47 points in 30 games, , named first all-star in ecac.

kudelski began 1987-88 kings, , appeared in first career nhl game on october 8, 1987, held off scoresheet in 4-1 loss new york islanders. on november 19, in 17th game, kudelski earned first career nhl point, assist, in 7-5 loss philadelphia flyers. point kudelski register in rookie season, played in 26 games. following kings game on december 10, club sent kudelski ahl affiliate, new haven nighthawks, finished 1987-88 season. nighthawks, kudelski scored 15 goals , 34 points in 50 games, however, club failed reach post-season.
