the choir has had many well-known organists, such daniel purcell, sir john stainer , bernard rose. among other notable former directors , masters of choir, hold title of informator choristarum, john sheppard, sir william mckie, haldane campbell stewart , composer bill ives, possibly better known former king s singer. disc of music, listen sweet dove, amongst choir s releases.


the current informator choristarum, since january 2017, mark williams. succeeded daniel hyde, had been organ scholar @ king s college cambridge, following hyde s appointment organist , director of music of saint thomas church, new york.


past organ scholars include dudley moore , matthew martin. past academical clerks include john mark ainsley, harry christophers (founder , director of sixteen), robin blaze , conductor/composer gregory rose.
