the green line s e branch streetcar service terminates @ heath street , south huntington avenue. bus service continues along south huntington avenue, centre street, , south street terminus @ forest hills station. orange line rapid transit train line runs below street level through middle of jamaica plain, stops @ jackson square, stony brook, green street, , forest hills. buses connect jamaica plain roslindale, west roxbury, hyde park, , suburban dedham, westwood , walpole south, , rest of boston street routes. forest hills station major transportation hub , within walking distance of arnold arboretum , forest hills cemetery.

the e branch temporarily suspended heath street forest hills in mid-1980s, proposals restore service have caused considerable tension in area. residents , commuters want restoration of branch, seen reconnection rest of city. however, others state #39 bus along old route, , orange line few blocks away, duplicate extension.

municipal parking lots located off centre street @ burroughs street in jamaica plain center, across mary curley school on centre street @ spring park ave., , across blessed sacrament church in hyde square. there few parking meters in jamaica plain; on-street parking free. many streets near mbta orange line stations posted resident permit during working hours (8 6 pm). intended discourage commuters using residential streets parking lots during day.

bicycle paths

two major bicycle paths serve jamaica plain. along southwest corridor park pierre lallement bicycle path, runs forest hills bay. west bicycle paths, run through parks of emerald necklace, along jamaicaway , riverway.
