llangefni commercial , farming town in anglesey , once hosted largest cattle market on island. there relatively large industrial estate, includes large chicken processing plant, largest single industrial operation in town, several other small businesses.


the town had station on anglesey central railway line opened in 1864. closed in 1964, although goods trains continued pass through town until 1993. although no longer used, railway tracks have not been removed. nearest station @ llanfairpwllgwyngyll, 5 miles (8 km) away crow flies. there frequent buses larger settlements of bangor , holyhead smaller towns of amlwch , beaumaris. road town 2 kilometres major a55 , a5 roads, via short a5114. water town comes llyn cefni, reservoir 1.5 miles (2.4 km) northwest.


llangefni hosted national eisteddfod in 1957 , 1983, , in 1999 gave name eisteddfod held @ nearby village of llanbedrgoch. hosted urdd eisteddfod (youth eisteddfod) in 2004. town has college, coleg menai (llangefni site).
