modern woodmen tax-exempt fraternal benefit society. membership organization sells life insurance, annuity , investment products fund member benefits , social, educational , volunteer programs meet community needs.


as fraternal organization, society organized around lodge system, called chapters, summit chapters , youth service clubs. these groups offer fellowship , community service opportunities members. in 2016, modern woodmen members part of 2,466 chapters, 283 summit chapters , 782 youth service clubs nationwide.


modern woodmen members across united states participate in numerous activities socialize, learn , volunteer in communities. members unite volunteer efforts provide money, donations, hand-on labor , other resources improve lives in communities. organization s matching fund program matches money raised individual chapters community members or local organizations in need.


modern woodmen s fraternal expenditures member benefits , community programs totaled $21.7 million in 2016. these programs included fraternal aid, college scholarships, newborn benefits, orphan benefits, final wishes resources, member discounts , youth educational programs.
