nicole started competing in pageants @ age of 5 yrs old when entered in local pageants in south bend, indiana area. enjoyed experience, did not plan on competing in future, nicole focused on other activities during elementary , junior high school.

she entered small pageant in mishawaka entitled miss michiana received 2nd runner-up, , later entered miss sweetheart pageant, in mishawaka, won beauty category entitling represented year aaa modeling agency in northern indiana.

her senior year of high school, nicole competed in plymouth junior miss pageant (now distinguished young women ) , chosen representative state program year. bested field of 9 girls competing in private interview, fitness routine (for won preliminary award), talent (for gave vocal performance), evening gown, , on-stage question. went indiana s junior miss later year.

nicole entered miss blueberry festival pageant same year competed in private interview, evening gown, , sportswear. placed 2nd in contest festival queen sara boyer.

after returning bolivia, south america nicole signed miss ball state university pageant first semester @ college, unable compete when chosen uniacc university exchange program in santiago, chile.

upon return chile, nicole entered miss indiana preliminary miss north central indiana in plainfield, indiana , received 2nd runner-up in well-known preliminary. entitled compete in sweeps pageant in bluffton, in choose 2 more contestants miss indiana pageant runners-up during year. there won title of miss wabash valley , entered miss indiana scholarship pageant first time in june 2006. year received 1st runner-up miss indiana 2006, betsy uschkrat, qualified national sweetheart pageant in hoopeston, illinois. national sweetheart pageant serves mock miss america inviting 1st runners-up state pageants compete 1 in order better prepare them competition next year. nicole chosen top 10 finalist @ sweetheart pageant year, , representative georgia, kelly bradshaw, captured title.

the following year, nicole fortunate enough win first local pageant competed in, miss ball state university. sang there ll faith hill, wore turquoise state gown previous year, , won preliminary awards in swimsuit , interview. represented school @ miss indiana scholarship pageant summer; returned original talent, singing bandido ana barbara in new wardrobe won preliminary talent award, , wore baby blue 1 shouldered tony bowls evening gown. able best field of 27 contestants , captured title of miss indiana 2007! first miss ball state win pageant in 50-year history, , first person plymouth, indiana well.

as miss indiana, nicole went on film reality series miss america organization entitled miss america: reality check 52 contestants given tips 3 advisors on changes need make newer, fresher, more modern image miss america needs have. series included 4 episodes aired before live pageant finale, , each week top 3 contestants progressing most, , bottom 3 contestants needed work, chosen final top 3 chosen on final episode. nicole, along miss washington , miss new mexico, chosen top 3 contestants on final episode, , awarded $10,000 scholarship crest white strips , $2,500 shopping spree www.shopintuition.com.

nicole represented state of indiana @ miss america pageant in january 2008 competed in 3 nights of preliminaries before final live pageant finale on saturday, january 21. there chosen top 16 finalist, competed in swimsuit competition, moved on top 10 finalists, competed in evening gown (where showcased self-designed evening gown sketched, chose fabric for, , had made @ chicago boutique mira couture [1]), survived top 8 finalists cut , competed in talent competition vocal performance of bandido ana bárbara. answered on-stage question final section of competition , named 1st runner-up miss america 2008, kirsten haglund of michigan.

after national pageant, nicole continued promote national platform of miss america, children s miracle network, in home state of indiana throughout nation. gave speeches @ several middle , elementary schools throughout state right decisions, right program emphasized importance of making decisions, setting goals yourself, , choosing smoke , tobacco free. sang national anthem @ indiana society of chicago s annual banquet, @ 4th of july celebration in zionsville, indiana (where state pageant held), nascar affiliated race, , @ other events. helped different organizations such hearts , hands organizing latino festival , toddler pageant, united way helping @ campaign launch , annual united way of marshall county motorcycle ride, children s miracle network visiting cmn hospital in indiana, riley s, helping coordinate holiday party helping hand out blizzards on miracle treat day @ plymouth dairy queen, , more.

nicole took hiatus pageants while focusing on career in entertainment industry in los angeles 5 years before decided compete again. time able compete in ms. division , chose ms. america pageant. applied become ms. missouri, after moving st. louis, , chosen state s representative. went on national competition in anaheim, ca won title of ms. america 2012! competed in interview, fashion wear, evening wear, fitness wear, , on-stage question , has since been on radio stations, television programs, red carpets, , in parades , @ special events throughout country. personal platform breathe easy - keeping our youth smoke , tobacco free nicole decided compete again continues use titles benefit causes throughout united states , plans compete in other pageants continue others through these empowering organizations.

seeing great benefit , many opportunities nicole afforded through pageants, nicole coached other women in facets of pageant competitions including interview, talent, on-stage presence, hair & make-up, wardrobe, , more couple of years has since served local director miss america organization (miss fox valley).
