2011 – terry francona filled tim mccarver first 2 games of fox s coverage during alcs because mccarver recovering minor heart procedure.
beginning in 2014, when fox sports began new television contract major league baseball, fs1 airs 40 regular season mlb games (mostly on saturdays), along 15 post-season games (eight divisional series games , 1 best-of-7 league championship series). deal resulted in reduction of mlb coverage on fox network, air 12 regular season games, all-star game, , world series.
2014 – mike bordick, color analyst orioles regular-season telecasts, , steve physioc, play-by-play man royals tv/radio broadcasts, employed field-level commentators tbs coverage along matt winer.

the start of game 1 delayed 4 minutes due floodlights tbs pre-game show set not being turned off in time.


2016 – sportsnet, property of toronto blue jays owner rogers communications, aired games in canada using tbs feeds.

2000s

notes

game 6 of 2000 alcs last baseball game nbc has televised date. in houston, due coverage of 2000 presidential debate, kprc-tv elected carry nbc news coverage of debate while knws-tv carried nbc s final baseball game.
in 2001, game 5 of nlcs , game 4 of alcs split between fox , fox sports net. came off heels of fox airing nfl doubleheader particular day (october 21).
in 2002, game 1 of nlcs , game 2 of alcs split between fox , fox sports net. regional split done in order fox avoid televising weekday afternoon game.
in 2003, game 1 of alcs , game 2 of nlcs split between fox , fx networks.
in 2004, game 1 of nlcs , game 2 of alcs split between fox , fox sports net. in 2004, game 5 of alcs ran way time slot of game 5 of nlcs. result, first 7 innings of nlcs game shown on fx networks.
in 2005, game 1 of nlcs , game 1 of alcs split between fox , fx networks.
game 2 of 2006 alcs intended air on fx, nlcs game night (originally intended air on fox) rained out. fx showed movie given sunday instead.

in 2006, fox removed steve lyons baseball coverage altogether following considered insensitive comments made hispanics during game 3 broadcast. during game 3, lyons broadcast colleague lou piniella, of spanish descent, made analogy involving luck of finding wallet, , briefly used couple of spanish phrases. lyons responded saying piniella hablaing espanol -- spanglish speaking spanish —and added, still can t find wallet. don t understand him, , don t want sit close him now.


on october 18, 2008, tbs missed of first inning of game 6 of year s american league championship series, viewers getting rerun of steve harvey show instead. tbs picked game prior last out in bottom of first, announcer chip caray apologizing viewers technical difficulties .
although not active field reporter during fox s coverage of 2009 alcs, kenny albert still presided on championship presentation , postgame interviews in pennant winning new york yankees clubhouse.

1990s

notes

the 1990 postseason started on thursday, while world series started on tuesday due brief lockout.
in 1991, cbs didn t come on air baseball weeknight lcs telecasts until 8:30 p.m. et. instead, opted show programming such rescue 911 @ 8 p.m. rather baseball pregame show.
over course of game 2 of 1992 alcs, jim kaat stricken bad case of laryngitis. result, johnny bench had come on cbs radio booth , finish game dick stockton relief analyst. there talk if kaat s laryngitis did not better, don drysdale going replace kaat on tv game 3 while bench continue work on cbs radio.

dick enberg in toronto games 1 , 7 of 1985 alcs on nbc. enberg hosted pregame show alongside rick dempsey (who still active baltimore @ time). meanwhile, bill macatee provided report on game 2 of alcs during pregame of nlcs opener.

ctv in canada simulcast nbc s coverage (albeit canadian commercials) of 1985 alcs involving toronto blue jays. in 1985, many relied on cable , antennas. therefore, carts of canada not near usa border couldn t pick american feeds, hence why these feeds needed.


on october 15, game 6 of 1986 nlcs ran long (lasting 16 innings, 5 hours , 29 minutes), bumped against start time of game 7 of alcs (also on abc). in last ever abc assignment, don drysdale interviewed winners in boston clubhouse following game 7 of 1986 alcs.

1970s

notes

in 1970, nbc televised second games of both league championship series on regional basis. markets got nlcs @ 1 p.m. et along 4 p.m. nfl game while other markets got alcs @ 4 p.m. along 1 p.m. nfl game.
in 1971, game 1 of alcs rained out on saturday, october 2. due nfl coverage, nbc did not televise rescheduled game 1 following day (they had planned nlcs telecast day), added telecast of game 2 on monday, october 4 (which had been scheduled travel day).
nbc did not air game 2 of 1973 alcs.
except game 1 in both series, games in 1975 regionally televised. game 3 of both league championship series aired in prime time, first time such occurrence happened.
1976 marked first time lcs games televised nationally. keith jackson unavailable call game 1 of alcs because had gotten finished calling oklahoma–texas college football game abc. thus, bob uecker filled-in jackson game 1. uecker took part in postgame interviews game 5 of 1976 alcs, while warner wolf did interview of george brett in kansas city locker room.
in 1978, keith jackson called oklahoma-texas college football game abc on october 7, , flew new york, arriving in time call game 4 of alcs same night.

1969

notes

in years of league championship series, nbc typically televised doubleheader on opening saturday, followed single game on sunday (because of nfl coverage). covered weekday games 1.5 hour overlap, joining second game in progress when first 1 ended. nbc swapped announcer crews after game 2.
nbc did not air game 2 of 1969 alcs.

surviving telecasts
