barker s unique drum , percussion style has seen him record , tour prominent contemporary recording artists such john butler trio, neil , tim finn respectively, split enz, new zealand symphony orchestra, kasey chambers, missy higgins, alex lloyd, nathan haines, vika , linda bull, black sorrows, deborah conway, christine anu, david bridie, , friend chocolate cake.


michael has performed music in theatre productions of shakespeare s midsummer night s dream, cats, rent, tap dogs, poor boy , jerry s girls.


in addition performing , recording, michael has written songs , music tim finn, david bridie, john butler, shane nicholson, eddie rayner, brian ritchie, vika , linda bull , christine anu.


michael wrote, recorded, mixed , released first solo album, wonderland in november 2006. album saw barker collaborate bob moore, jeff raglus, bill macdonald, steve hadley, ray pareira, peter neville , vca percussion ensemble.


in 2008, michael played split enz on nz reunion tour. introduced tim finn @ wellington concert newest split enz member .


in june 2008, michael performed @ australia s ultimate drummers weekend festival held in melbourne.


since 2010, , friend grant haua swamp thing, 2 man blues roots juggernaut 3 released albums , track record of concerts performed through new zealand , australia.
