as storm approached solomon islands, officials advised vessels remain @ port due rough seas produced ului. search , rescue personnel placed on standby. on 16 march, unicef announced supply solomon islands relief funds following passage of cyclone. during passage of storm, airport officials cancelled many flights due dangerous weather conditions. these cancellations took place on two-day span, leaving many passengers stranded during storm.
