Receptors Relaxin family peptide hormones
the receptors rln/insl peptides collectively called “relaxin family peptide receptors (rxfps)”. there 2 distinct families of rxfps, of cell membrane-associated , coupled g-proteins (known g protein-coupled receptors or gpcrs). in humans there 4 rxfp receptors: rxfp1 , rxfp2 evolutionarily related receptors of follicle-stimulating , luteinizing hormones (fsh , lh, respectively), , cognate receptors rln , insl3 respectively in humans. on other hand, rxfp3 , rxfp4 related somatostatin et al. and, in humans, cognate receptors rln3 , insl5. there evidence relaxin hormones may able interact glucocorticoid-type nuclear receptors, found floating freely between cytoplasm , nucleoplasm.
