construction crane @ site of main station entrance


an overhead crane assembled on pile wall @ site of station s main entrance. according metrolinx, first time in canada overhead crane has been used on open excavation. site had no space install more typical tower crane or luffing crane. crane stands 12 metres tall , weighs 35 tons. went operation in mid-september 2017.


oakwood station built mining rather cut-and-cover. mining activities began in october 2017.
