nuragic soldiers comprised in fact archers, swordsmen , warriors bearing mixed weaponry, consisting of bow , sword. bow , sword may outstretched @ same time, such in uta-type bronze figurines (from uta, findspot), or sword may remain in scabbard while archer shooting arrow.
the quiver-scabbard pair visible in @ least 1 statue , finds parallels either in uta , in abini-type bronze figurines (the latter named after finding spot, nuragic sanctuary of abini in teti). archaeologist giovanni lilliu stressed in particular similarity between crescent-shaped hilt of mont e prama statue , 1 held archer of santa vittoria di serri, wearing same loincloth, trimmed in tailcoat, monte prama boxers.
archers’ faces similar of boxers, hair gathered in braids coming down @ face sides. head protected, nape, calotte-shaped, crested , horned helmet, ears left free.
several fragments show horns curved , bending forward, of uncertain length , pointed @ end (different warriors); furthermore there traces of support, obtained same stone, joining horns approximately @ half-length.
