professional wrestling career

missy hyatt helped bagwell break wrestling business.. growing up, bagwell standout baseball player during tenure in sprayberry high school, , worked family s lumber company. upon graduating high school, started amateur boxing career. when lumber company went bankrupt, however, bagwell became certified massage therapist before deciding become wrestler.

early career (1990–1991)

he trained under steve lawler , debuted in 1990, working north georgia wrestling fabulous fabian. in 1991, began wrestling global wrestling federation handsome stranger, gimmick suggested bill eadie saw bagwell don lone ranger-style mask.

the new world order (1996–1999)

on november 25, 1996, bagwell joined new world order after turning on partner riggs. renamed himself buff bagwell , formed tag team scott norton called vicious , delicious. go along name change developed habits of flexing muscles , talk camera insulting opponents while complementing himself. while nwo, competed new japan pro wrestling part of nwo japan, njpw version of nwo. when returned america, began feud lex luger, later saw bagwell defeat him @ starrcade.

on april 22, 1998 edition of thunder, bagwell wrestled match against rick steiner won disqualification when scott steiner interfered on behalf. before that, however, rick attempted diving bulldog finishing move, not executed correctly , resulted in bagwell s head striking steiner s back, jamming neck , severely injuring him. bagwell diagnosed several damaged vertebrae , developed spinal shock, leading him use wheelchair , neck brace time. returned months later interview viciously ridiculed hollywood hogan , shoved entryway floor. on july 6, after having neck surgery, wheelchair-ridden bagwell returned wcw in home state of georgia. bagwell seemed have new attitude , called out rick steiner offer him forgiveness. however, bagwell restrained rick while fellow nwo member scott steiner assaulted him steel chair, reaffirming loyalty hogan , nwo. bagwell rose wheelchair , helped scott beat down rick. in january 1999, nwo factions emerged, leading bagwell , steiner side nwo wolfpac. alliance ended @ uncensored when bagwell accidentally hit steiner chair, costing him world television championship.

in june 1999, bagwell engaged in rivalry wcw president ric flair , vice president roddy piper after claiming being held back. led three-round boxing match piper @ bash @ beach, saw bagwell victorious. in september 1999, feuded berlyn when berlyn issued challenge bagwell, @ fall brawl, bagwell late coming arena , hacksaw jim duggan replaced him. next night on nitro, bagwell lost berlyn after interference of bodyguard, wall. in november, defeated veteran curt hennig in retirement match. bagwell feuded diamond dallas page after made allegations page s wife kimberly. having spent of 1999 feuding older wrestlers, bagwell 1 of first join eric bischoff s new blood alliance, forming tag team shane douglas while both members. bagwell , douglas won world tag team championship ric flair , lex luger, giving bagwell fifth world tag team title reign , rekindling feud luger 2 years earlier. @ slamboree, luger defeated bagwell via submission torture rack. on may 9, 2000 following thunder taping in springfield, illinois, bagwell punched , yelled racial slurs @ wcw crew member darrell miller after , bagwell began arguing when miller attempted carry equipment through doorway in bagwell standing. 6 days later, bagwell charged battery sangamon county, illinois state s attorney s office. in response, wcw suspended bagwell thirty days , stripped him of half of world tag team championship.

upon return, bagwell attempted win world tag team title douglas once more, unsuccessful. bagwell, torrie wilson side, wrestled douglas @ bash @ beach, lost when wilson distracted him , sided douglas. bagwell began feud chris kanyon, began stalking him , harassing bagwell s mother judy psychological tactic. bagwell defeated kanyon in match judy suspended forklift. rescued mother despite surprise interference of actor david arquette. in august 2000, david flair s storyline girlfriend miss hancock mysteriously became pregnant. flair accused womanizing bagwell, led first blood match @ halloween havoc, flair hoping obtain sample of bagwell s blood prove father of hancock s child. although bagwell victorious, flair managed blood sample when bagwell s nemesis lex luger attacked him after match. bagwell revealed not being father, , entire pregnancy found have been fabrication.

totally buffed (2000–2001)

at starrcade, bagwell, @ time had returned backstage interviewer, betrayed goldberg trying cost him match lex luger. bagwell s efforts unsuccessful, managed hit goldberg steel chair after had pinned luger. despite feuding in past, bagwell , luger united , became known totally buffed. totally buffed go on defeat goldberg @ sin after fan maced goldberg, allowing bagwell pin him. due stipulation in match, goldberg was, in storyline, fired. in 2001, totally buffed joined ric flair s magnificent 7 stable, , remained them until wcw s closure.

world wrestling federation (2001)

shortly after wcw purchased world wrestling federation in march 2001, bagwell 1 of first aol time warner contracted wrestlers accept offered buy-out on contract , sign wwf. on july 1, 2001, bagwell faced booker t @ house show , made wwf televised debut on july 2 episode of raw war, facing booker t wcw championship. match went no-contest after interference stone cold steve austin , kurt angle. when bagwell arrived raw tapings on july 9 in atlanta, georgia, informed being released contract due complaints attitude , altercation fellow wcw alumnus shane helms. there accusations bagwell faked injury @ july 3 smackdown! tapings after receiving aided powerbomb acolytes protection agency. accusations claimed mother judy calling wwf offices request son time off heal injury supposedly inflicted bagwell aided powerbomb , complain son s travel arrangements. however, bagwell himself claims never understood why fired wwf.

total nonstop action wrestling (2002, 2003, 2006)

after making several appearances total nonstop action wrestling in 2002 , 2003, bagwell returned tna on april 27, 2006 episode of impact! first of sting s possible tag team partners sacrifice on may 14. bagwell appeared on september 28 episode of impact! in several segments, including press conference, video package, , live segment briefly brawled jeff jarrett. bagwell competed in 2 live events in tna on december 15, 2006, bagwell , ron killings defeated david young , elix skipper , next night bagwell , rhino defeated david young , elix skipper. @ 2008 live event in florida, bagwell expressed have liked work deal tna because reminded him of days in wcw.

independent circuit (2001–present)

following departure wwf, bagwell began performing jimmy hart s newly founded x wrestling federation, taped television matches @ universal studios florida on november 12 , november 13, 2001. in addition xwf, bagwell toured europe , australia world wrestling all-stars. in autumn of 2001, competed in inception pay-per-view won open battle royal before losing jeff jarrett in semi-finals of wwa world heavyweight championship tournament. united kingdom tour followed, faced stevie ray , defeated him in several matches. continued wwa 2002, in april, took part in eruption pay-per-view. time, teamed wwa rival stevie ray in unsuccessful effort against brian christopher , ernest miller. in autumn of 2002, toured uk , took part in retribution pay-per-view. during tour, took part in main event tag team match involving sting, lex luger , nathan jones. @ pay-per-view, teamed johnny swinger face norman smiley , malice in losing effort.

since final appearance in tna, bagwell has resumed wrestling on independent circuit, prominently national wrestling alliance territory mid-atlantic championship wrestling , universal championship wrestling.

after recovering injuries, bagwell resumed wrestling career and, in march 2013, won american premier wrestling s heavyweight championship after defeating cowboy jeremy young @ apw s brawl vi event.

on may 24, 2014, bagwell competed in jt lightning invitational tournament held absolute intense wrestling, won first round match against jock samson before losing ethan page in quarterfinals.
