tenryū laid down on 7 may 1917 , completed on 20 november 1919, @ yokosuka naval arsenal. prior world war ii, participated in siberian intervention, yangtze river patrols , supported landings of japanese troops along china coast. during stages of pacific war, participated in battle of wake island , invasions of solomon islands, new guinea, tulagi, , battle of savo island. 2 of torpedoes credited sinking uss quincy (ca-39). sunk after naval battle of guadalcanal uss albacore, , struck on 20 january 1943.
tatsuta (龍田)
tatsuta laid down on 24 july 1917 , completed @ sasebo naval arsenal on 31 march 1919. prior world war ii, participated in siberian intervention, , supported landings of japanese troops along china coast. during pacific war, participated in battle of wake island , invasions of solomon islands, new guinea, tulagi, , battle of savo island , naval battle of guadalcanal. retained in japanese home waters of 1943 on training duties. sunk while bound saipan uss sand lance, 40 nautical miles (74 km) nne of hachijōjima on 13 march 1944. tatsuta struck on 10 may 1944.
