yonli descendant of last dynasty of gurma kingdom founded @ end of 13th century migrants kanem-bornu, region situated between modern niger, nigeria , chad. dynasty confused history of gurma people, live in eastern burkina faso, can subdivided 3 lines, namely yobri, tambaga , tansarga. paramanga ernest yonli comes 1 of ruling families of latter line of tansarga.


gurma society organised around power centre made of founding family, ministers of court , people. power centre governed democratic principles whereby chief or king appointed following aligned vote adult citizens. paramanga ernest yonli’s great-grandfather, grandfather , father each ruled tansarga in canton of gobnangou in turn. today older brother remains chief of village of tansarga.


he obtained mathematics , natural sciences baccalaureate honours in 1976.


at university level, following degree in general economics @ university of ouagadougou, came top of class in masters in economic sciences @ university of benin in togo, completed training phd @ university of groningen in netherlands. thesis focused on farmer strategies in food security , cereal marketing: role of cereal banks in north plateau-central of burkina faso .


paramanga ernest yonli specialist in international economics (paris university – pantheon sorbonne) , development , agricultural economics (same institution).


married safi, 1 of daughters of former president saye zerbo (1980–82), father 4 children.
