ceeney born in new south wales town of harden-murrumburrah on 7 january 1934, eldest of 4 children. became paraplegic after breaking in horse-riding accident in 1951 @ age of 17. spent 9 months in sydney s royal prince alfred hospital before returning murrumburrah. 8 years after accident, moved sydney spent 6 months @ cherrywood rehabilitation centre , 1 year @ mt wilga rehabilitation hospital. while living @ rehabilitation hospital, developed sporting ability , skills. selected australia s female athlete @ 1960 rome paralympics.


in 1967, married frank hilton, whom had met @ northern archers club. worked shorthand typist until birth of twin girls, nichole , rachael, in 1970. @ royal north shore hospital 6 months before delivery, , first person paraplegia give birth twins in australia; thesis written pregnancy , birth. officially opened athlete s village @ 2000 sydney olympics , paralympics, , part of 2000 paralympic torch relay. in august 2012, donated set of medals 1960 games , 3 australian team blazers australian paralympic committee. died in canberra on 25 july 2016 @ age of 82.
