on august 21 episode of smackdown, jeff (then world heavyweight champion) , matt reunited hardys , teamed john morrison in six-man tag team match defeat cm punk , hart dynasty. following week, jeff lost loser leaves wwe steel cage match cm punk, resulting in him leaving company. on year later, on october 15, 2010, wwe announced matt had been released contract, matt later stating release had been in effect 2 weeks before wwe made announcement.
