heritage area in murrayville between 48a ave , 48 ave on 216a street
in 1870, paul murray settled in location , sons owned quarter section of land on each of 4 corners of yale road , 216th street. area became known murrays corner after alexander murray, drowned in fraser river in january 1884 while attempting in vain save friend. murray buried @ fort langley cemetery when odd fellows cemetery opened family exhumed body , relocated closer home.
in 1925, post office named murrayville . area between 216 street, 216a street, 48th ave , 48a avenue 1 of oldest subdivisions in langley. of 8 building lots in subdivision there still 6 heritage houses (built before 1930).
